Today I took up spinning and I've started this blog as a way to journal my accidents in spinning. The name came up during my class as one person was looking at the mistake laden skein of yarn I'd just spun. She told me there were no mistakes and that practice makes progress. She also told me there would come a time when I'm more experienced, that I'll try to make a skein that looks like this, but I'll have a hard time reproducing it. And look! Today I made two. I'll try to keep this advice in mind along this journey.

Good advice...not that it's easy to remember when you're learning something new.
I've sort of always wanted to learn to spin but there are so many things to distract me - not sure I need another. It'll be fun to follow along with you and pretend I'm doing it.

Stephanie, a drop spindle is inexpensive. A small investment, trust me. I bought a fancy shmancy spindle, but that was only because it was hand painted and the sheep amused me.

This will be interesting. Gee..a new home, new blog, new hobby, new furniture. What's next?!?! I know you will be an expert in no time. I was lying down with the grand baby last week and we were cuddled up with your clapotis shawl and I was admiring your work....and so was she. She LOVES wool...even her Mommy's wool winter coat.
Brenda, I'm so glad you and the baby are enjoying the shawl. You paint such a pretty picture of the two of you all snuggled up.
I don't know what's next, but I know that's enough newness for awhile. I can't afford much more.
